Structural Testing Of Semi-tractor Trailers: An article from: Experimental Techniques
This study was initiated as a result of measured substantial permanent deformation in the floor beams of over-the-road trailers. Excessive deformations of the floor beams result in premature failure of the wood decking inside the trailer. The damage to the floor beams can damage paper rolls during loading resulting in charges to the hauler for the damaged paper.
